22 postgraduate business students from over 14 countries and territories joined us for the monthly networking event on Wednesday (23 Feb 2021). Organised by HKBU School of Business with the objective of providing “Zoom-fatigued” students with quality networking and team building opportunities, the event enabled postgraduate students from different cultures and programmes to engage in fruitful yet socially-distanced collaborations and interactions.
 
Kicking-off the event, Prof. Gerard Prendergast, Associate Dean (Internationalisation) of the School of Business shared with participants the importance of a university having diversity and inclusivity, and that students can learn more from people who are different from themselves than the same as themselves. Following this, students learned about Hong Kong’s economy, global issues and useful Cantonese phrases through interactive group-games and sharing sessions. At the end of the event, each student took home a Chinese New Year gift pack to cheer them up during these difficult pandemic times, and to symbolise our optimistic outlook for the coming Year of the Ox.
